And Even if It Kills Me - I'm Gonna Smile

Lonestar - Smile

Vaya Con Dios Becky

I'd Rather See You Smiling
You must not think that I have gone  Please don't grieve or pine
I'd rather see you smiling
Laughing - working - looking fine

Death is an exciting key  Which opens many doors
It leads us into other worlds   Quite similar to yours

Life is not an accident
Death is not the end   God designed a mystery
Life and death do blend

So do not think that I have gone    Please don't brood or pine
I'd rather see you smiling    Laughing - working - looking fine
by:  Alan Pemberton

We never know what tomorrow will bring, Becky battled cancer for a very long time, then pneumonia was her final enemy to battle.  I was reading the comments in her visitation guestbook and one of them said they would remember her smile.

Be Thankful for unrealized blessing, for unanswered and answered prayers;
Be thankful that on this day you have the possibility of another tomorrow,
and the choice of a life in the hereafter more joyous than anything this world beholds.
Lift up thine eyes to the Lord and Bless His Name.
Mary Chapin Carpenter - Thanksgiving Song
May your day of Thanksgiving be blessed,
may your day be bright, your heart light,
your soul happy and content,
your feet tired from dance,
your hands busy with food and fun,
your heart....
full of love, kindness, tenderness and caring
for one and all, and full of forgiveness.

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled On This Day.
There is always a blessing to be found, if only we open our hearts and minds to allow it.

Blessed be the peacemakers.

Thankfulness

Happy Thanksgiving To All

I hope everyone takes a moment to
offer a prayer of thanksgiving,
and to remember to thank the one
above for all the things we have to be thankful for.

This year when I count my blessings,
I'm thankful for health, (which could be far worse);
for the food and drink that I have,
for the roof over my head, cars that I drive (petrol to power them);
I'm thankful for being raised in an old rundown house
loved by two grandparents
thankful for being taught right from wrong;
thankful that I've had a life thus far
that was full of mountains but thankful that the valleys gave me hope;
thankful that I've had the pleasure of knowing alot of people
that have brightened my way,
friends that have come to my aid when I needed them,
and pets that have been my solace and befriended me
for the beautiful October and November this year,
so the winter months do not seem so long.
Thankful for the monetary means for the items I must have,
thankful that I have another set of footprints that walk with me.
Thankful that even when I fail there is forgiveness,
and thankful that through Our Savior I have the
blessing of a life hereafter with the ones that have gone
before me, and that my father has prepared a place for me,
where I can sing with the Angels and never worry about growing old.

Thankful that I live in the times when I have freedom of speech,
freedom to choose - freedom to worship my GOD,
freedom to make choices whether right or wrong,
and know that God doesn't love me any less when I fail.

Thankful that I have the ability of all of my body movements,
vision, smell, sensory skills and perception,
thankful that I can walk and talk and breathe the fresh air
and thankful for the things that I take for granted.
Thankful for the ability to choose my friends,
and thankful for music; music from all instruments,
music from people, music from the wildlife, music from
the movement of the wind and air, thankful for those
@ PCR that befriend me, for those in other online venues that
put a smile on my face.
THANKFUL THAT I AM ALIVE !!

God Bless Us One and All

Google & TOS For Android Market/Music

Well I was all excited tonight to see that Google had their Android Market up and running and free music from Pearl Jam and Shakira --- so I sign in .........  was going to add Pearl Jam and Shakira to my "google" account - and it said "Terms of Service" you must agree to and a payment window....
hmmmmm well ding ding ding ..... free music.......... need credit card ???

So as most of you know Miss Anal read part of the TOS ............ down to the part about granting them the right to get a CREDIT REPORT ........... and further still it states something along the lines of using that to deem you worthy of keeping the service (IN ESSENCE, note I am taking leeway and liberty with the verbiage here), you can read it for yourself if you choose to, and I certainly hope you do BEFORE you AGREE to TOS and provide credit card information.

Where is Clark Howard?  He should be screaming about this on his show.  Why on earth would they need a credit report if you are buying music that you will OWN then, obviously you are not going to receive the music unless you pay (or get free unless they have a valid credit card or DEBIT CARD) ...... well I think Clark Howard should read all of that and do some advising on his show and on the radio ...........  I see where this could be a major issue, for what purpose would they need a credit card to sell you music that you have to instantly pay for?????????  That just makes no sense to me at all.

Ok, that's my 2 cents on this subject, needless to say I won't be doing Google Music, and I am sad about that because I truly thought they would have an awesome offering, but quite frankly I don't think it is necessarily a good thing to have corporations accessing personal information that they truly have no reason to access.   This left a really bad taste in my mouth, and leaves me wondering just what the reasoning is for that.

I Stood Up -- Nearer My God To Thee

I Stood Up --- Nearer My God To Thee
(STAND UP & PRAISE HIM)  The King of Kings.........
Don't Miss Out on a blessing today - you will get one if you listen to this song.

I was all stressed out, all alone and stranded by the side of the highway, ...... there was no way left to go.... I heard a bell in a steeple so I followed the people, and I sat down on the backrow of the church on frontage row.  Brother Hargate started playing, Brother Newton faced the crowd. ...........
I found JESUS on the backrow of the Church on Frontage Road.
I stood up prouder, I stood up,  I sang louder, I sang louder than I've ever sang up, I stood up and sang his praises, I stood up and it still amazes me , how I found Jesus, found him on a backrow in a church on frontage road.  Glory hallelujah.... I found Jesus .. found him on a backrow on a Church on Frontage Road.
Brother Newton came down shook my hand, he said son I'm not just a preacher, I'm a teacher, and I'm sure glad I could help you find your way. ..............  And he raised his hands to Heaven and said Let's all Welcome Our Newest Member - Open your hymn book to 145 and let's sing Nearer My God To Thee ...
AND YOU KNOW WHAT I DID?

I STOOD UP ......... I SANG HIS PRAISES.... I STOOD UP
and IT STILL AMAZES ME .... HOW I FOUND JESUS ... FOUND HIM ON A BACKROW on the Church on Frontage Road.     Yes I Did.
                                           AMEN

Brian Burns - I Stood Up

I found the song by Rusty Wier, I did not see one by Brian, but the
original song I heard was Brian Burns.  Nonetheless, the song is still amazing
no matter who sings it.

It doesn't matter how long it's been - I can talk to God like he's my best friend
take my heart and lay it down again right there
in a dirt road prayer.

That's what is so beautiful - that we can always find our way back and have someone always there waiting on us.

I'll Always Remember You

What a Beautiful Heart-Felt Song from George Strait to his FANS.

In this day and age it's not often you get thanks for things you do,
but here's an artist that writes a song just for his FANS.
This speaks loud about his character, faith, beliefs and his true grit.
It's a very beautiful song, and I'm sure he's pulled alot of people
through alot of hard times.

His life has not been a bed of roses, he's had alot of family turbulences
that have been sad and will always be sad for him, but he's toughed
out the hard times and rejoiced when he got past the worst, and
I for one hope he doesn't hang his hat up anytime soon.

Against The Wind (2011 - Bob Seger Live)

Whew he still has it after all these years and singing one of my all time favorite songs ....

Against the Wind ----  Breaking all the rules that would bend, I began to find myself searching for shelter again and again.... Against the Wind...... Found myself seeking shelter against the wind.

OLDER NOW..... but still running against the wind.... against the wind.

still running... running against the wind .... I'm still running, running against the wind.
See the young man run.... watch the young man running against the wind... let the cowboys ride,
against the wind........................  I'll be riding against the wind .......... Older now.... but still running
AGAINST THE WIND...........  Yeah, that's Bob Seger, a little older now than he was in 1980 when he was running and doing night moves, but he's still running headlong into the wind.

These trips down memory lane are saddening, leaves me to wonder if these guys are going to be the last real legends of Southern Rock, although others are trying, just hoping he's not the last of the dying breed.  or maybe it's just that I'm growing older right along with him, in 1980 I thought the world was a playground and I had to swing in all the swings and slide down all the slides, the swinging and sliding don't come as easy as they use to, but like Seger, I'm still running headlong into the wind.

Hank Williams Jr. -- Da Blues Man -- Keep The Change & Kiss His A$$

The video abovd is one of my favorites .... Gimme 3 Steps - Skynard & Williams  -- you'll want your dancing shoes on for this one.

Hey Baby I Love You, Hey Baby I Need You
I rarely watch television, but if Fox News has someone on that is an artist I like, I'll make a special effort to
listen to hear them and was listening the morning HWJr.'s promoting a cd turned into Kick his A$$ out of Monday Night football.  The result -- His new song -- Keep The Change

BTW, I do think what he said was taken out of context, but the end result was he lost one of the favorite things he liked doing ..... but he took it in HWJr fashion with a quirky kick A$$ song that pretty much sums it all up.  I don't care if you do or do not like HWJr., he should be respected for standing up for his beliefs, and for his support of our armed forces.  Can't you see what our country is coming to when only "special" people can express themselves, and others are not allowed ?   And that's pretty much the reasoning behind his song, but I digress, you can just listen for yourself and he'll give you a free download over on his website.
Listen to Darryl Worley's song ............

I watch the news and have to wonder if this country's going crazy, ....
I'm just the average joe, and that makes me smart enough to know there's other's
out here who think the same...........  GONNA KEEP OUR GOD  & OUR FREEDOM

Ronnie Milsap - played keyboard on Elvis Kentucky Rain and sang harmony on Don't Cry Daddy

Once in every life someone comes along and you came to me... it was almost like a song;

You were in my arms, right where you belonged, and we were so in love, it was almost like a song.
Who couldn't love Ronnie Milsap?  The fact that he still has cd's in 2011, proves his worthiness of our time and ears.  One of our favorites is the one I posted, but I have alot of RM favorites.
Here's a few more, if you don't know Ronnie's biography, I think I might have posted some info on him on here previously, but sorry my sciatica has had me in bed all day today and I'm not searching tonight, but will give you a little background on this amazing man ... and oh can you say J. J. Cale influcences.... yes, Ronnie's first real show was as a member of J. J. Cale's band, how awesome is that.  Mr. Riley Rhythm himself.

Well basically some of Ronnie's bio goes like this.... he was raised by his father and grandparents after the divorce of his parents, he was born in Robbinsville, NC, and he was born blind from congenital glaucoma, he attended The Governor Moorhead School for the Blind at age 5, and a couple years later his tearchers experienced his amazing musical talents, thus he began to study formally (classical music).

A single year after he began learning the violin, he was declared a virtuoso. He also mastered piano, guitar and a variety of other stringed instruments, as well as various woodwinds. Eventually, he became interested in rock 'n' roll and while still in school formed his first rock band, the Apparitions. He briefly attended college in Atlanta where he studied pre-law. Though he was awarded a comprehensive scholarship, he decided to become a full-time musician instead. His first professional gig was as a member of J.J. Cale's band in the early '60s.

Ronnie Milsap - The Future Aint What It Used To Be

Two amazing artists - hope you enjoy the songs.
Til next time, keep your eyes skyward, your heart in the right place,
your hands busy, and remember you aren't learning if your
mouth is moving when someone else is teaching.

Life's Journey

Sometimes we have people in our lives for a short while, others for a very long time, and some we merely cross paths with.  The important part sometimes is not how long they were there, but why they were there, and did we provide what they needed, or in some instances vice versa.  Thus, the same is true with our lives, we can live everyday trying to be number one, or we can live everyday being the person that our inner self wants us to be, for each of us that inner self might be a bit different, and that's what makes our journey through life so special.  We each have something to offer to others.  Some have the ability to perform operations that save lives, others have the ability to be your anchor in the storm, others motivate us to be all that we can be, and some people are there to teach us right from wrong.

Perhaps this journey through life teaches us that love doesn't just mean looking at someone with love, but that we look together down the road on our journey and fill it with love.  The universal question might be how do we get there?  Each of us have an internal music box, the mirror to our souls, sometimes we get the lyrics and the melody out of tune and out of time, and we end up with a broken heart, or out of focus, our mirror gets smudged and we have a hard time seeing what we need to see.  Maybe the answer to the question is just love with everything you have inside you and if we suffer along the way, find the goodness from that experience and use that to kindle a fire to spread more love.  In the end, it isn't about how long we were here, it's really about what did we miss out on because we were not open enough to look inside our ownselves.  Each of us can be a better friend, sister, soulmate, lover, neighbor, just a better person if we let Love be the motivator.

Today I have alot to be thankful for, amazing friends, a guide that came into my life that is far more knowledgeable that I will ever be, but is one of those amazing people that appears when we need them most.  An online family that is just as real as those that we have around us in person, and indeed they are with us in person because they are in our hearts.  Those that know me really well know that I tell people to always talk about people that have moved to a higher place, because we keep them alive here on earth with our talking about them, and sometimes they are that Angel in the Night that comforts us and keeps us safe from harm.  Today you might be someone's angel and not even know it, just a kind word or deed, might be the one thing that keeps someone out of harms way.  Sometimes it's not spoken words, it's a kind look, a friendly smile, or just an act of kindness towards someone; sometimes it's just three little words "I LOVE YOU" or "I REALLY DO CARE", and sometimes it's saying nothing at all.

So today, I will say I love you to all of my friends and family, even to my enemies, because no matter who you are or what you have done, I am going to have faith that you will find the light. I will pray that God will keep you safe from harm, and that you always have an anchor in the storm.

To those that I hurt, I ask forgiveness and understanding, understanding that caring and getting hurt makes us strike out in anger sometimes.  It doesn't mean that I don't love you, it means I am human.

So today, I had to forgive me first, so that I can only hope to do my best today to make the world a little happier, a little better starting with ME.

Falladions - Spiral Starecase

The Fylladions (sometimes spelled Falladions)

The Fylladions formed in Sacremento, California with Dick Lopes as sax player; Bobby Raymond on the bass; Harvey Kaye on organ; Vinnie Parello on drums and Pat Upton as lead guitarist and vocalist, who was from Alabama.

The group auditioned for Columbia Records, who hated their name, but loved the group's music.  Dick Lopes scooped up the name "Spiral Starecase" from a movie with a slight variation in spelling, and they secured their contract.  Assigned to producer Gary Usher, their first two singles were released to regional successes in markets like Phoenix. At this time, Sonny Knight (himself a one-hit wonder with "Confidential" on Dot) was brought in as producer. Upton, encouraged by Usher to write original material for the group, had brought in "More Today Than Yesterday," which became the next single and their breakthrough hit. Considering the long-lasting impact of the song on oldies radio, it seems inconceivable that the tune charted no higher than number 12 nationally. The Starecase released one album and a couple more singles before poor management and squabbles over finances caused the group to splinter by 1969. Harvey Kaye led an ersatz version of the group for a brief period, while Upton fled to session work, eventually joining up with Rick Nelson as a backup vocalist. In the mid-'80s, after Nelson's death, Upton became a staple on the oldies
round robin cirucit.

Kaye returned to Las Vegas where he re-formed the band. That line-up featured Mike Caschera (aka. Michael Anthony) (lead vocals), Al Sebay (guitar), Gene Austin (electric bass) , Mark Barrett (drums), and Tim McRoberts (backup drummer and vocals). The band toured extensively and played every major venue in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in the late 1970s through the mid 1980s with a full horn section and two backup girl singers to replicate the trademark sound of their biggest hits.  Kaye headed a management company in Las Vegas with his wife Candy. He died on August 17, 2008. Candy still owns SMASH Productions and holds the trademark for "Spiral Starecase". Parello is retired in Southern California but Upton still performs various times throughout the year. Raymond died in 1984.

                                             -------------------------------------------
While the Spiral Starecase may be a one-hit wonder group, their songs actually deserved better showings; it just appears they got lost in the black-hole in the music world and never recovered.  However, their legacy song - Love You More Today Than Yesterday is still a much played song on the oldies stations, and a song everyone identifies with, but never seems to place the group's name.  Thus the black hole robbed a obviously fantastic group of greater fame and fortune.  So let's try to rectify that by giving them some much deserved recognition here and on air.  (Tune in http://www.partycentralradio.com/ - where White Rose will be playing their tunes).  (Tues/Thurs nites 9-the bewitching hour).............

The band is known for their hits "More Today Than Yesterday" (U.S. #12), released in January 1969, and the follow-up "She's Ready".   In 1969, "More Today Than Yesterday" charted #12 in the Billboard Hot 100, (in Cash Box, it reached #7) but sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc.  "More Today Than Yesterday" has been widely covered by, among others, Diana Ross and the band Goldfinger, and was featured in the 1991 film My Girl, on the soundtrack of The Waterboy in 1998, and in an episode of Ally McBeal entitled Silver Bells.
